About Hailey Wong

As a Master of Science in Accounting student at CU Denver Business School, I am building on my undergraduate foundation through hands-on experience and advanced coursework as I prepare for a career in public accounting. I have gained practical experience through multiple internships, working in areas such as accounts receivable, joint interest billing, balance sheet reconciliations, and SAP-based accounting systems. These roles have strengthened my attention to detail, analytical skills, and understanding of how accounting supports business operations. In addition to my academic and professional experience, I serve as a student representative on the CU Denver Business School Board of Advisors, where I help represent the student perspective and engage with faculty and industry professionals. I also hold a minor in Psychology, which enhances my ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and approach problem-solving with empathy and perspective. I am excited to continue developing my skills in fast-paced, team-oriented environments as I advance in public accounting throughout my degree.

   Supported multiple assurance engagements by preparing and rolling forward audit workpapers, leadsheets, and planning documentation across investments, revenue, A/R, inventory, and tax- Prepared and updated investment leadsheets and analyses (combined investments, income, reinsurance), including year-end inputs, tie-outs, and cross-referencing to supporting workpapers- Contributed to financial statement footnote support (fair value, non-controlling interests, tax tie-outs), resolving reviewer notes and improving documentation quality- Executed guided risk assessments (GRAs) by confirming risks, refining significant-risk language, and linking significant accounts/controls to strengthen audit trail and compliance- Supported revenue recognition and substantive testing (ASC 606 memos, A/R detail testing, subsequent receipts, independent estimate support, and journal entry testing roll-forward)- Improved engagement readiness through Omnia file hygiene and diagnostics (clearing track changes/notes, rolling SOC reports, archiving support, and meeting minutes summaries).
