As a mechanical engineer in the entry to development group for the continuous miner product, I foresee, calculate, experiment, research, and implement new designs for our customers. My employment at Komatsu, since 2020, has created an opportunity for me to not only support my company, but also to connect and give back to our community. I am involved in our Emerging Professionals network, Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs Exchange (FLEX), community outreach programs such as the Fluid Power Action Challenge, and college career fairs to promote our internship and engineering rotational programs. My experience continues to grow as I progress through new roles, some of which include an engineering intern, an engineer in the engineering rotational program, and presently, a mechanical engineer. Due to my past experience, I intend to mentor other engineers in the upcoming future so that they too can have the same success.
