He is an atmospheric modeler whose work examines the interactions between regional and urban weather and implications on energy use, emissions, pollutant transport, air quality, and the thermal environment. With a focus on the urban atmosphere, he updates, adapts, and uses multi-scale, state-of-science atmospheric models to study and quantify the meteorological, energy, and air-quality impacts and benefits of reduced emissions, land-use management strategies, urban cooling measures, and various traditional or emerging energy technologies. He also develops fine-scale micro-meteorological models and modeling techniques that provide short- and long-term highly site-specific forecasts to clients in various industries, for input to environmental / photochemical / air-quality models, dispersion modeling, and in generating hyper-local site-specific weather data and weather files for various applications, including for input to energy models and energy calculations.Haider is a proud resident of beautiful California. He went to UCLA then UC Berkeley, worked as a Staff Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and later started Altostratus Inc, a California corporation.
