Experience of working in both client-facing and research-focused teams to deliver projects for a range of retail clientsClient delivery• Responsible for machine learning pipeline underpinning Tesco’s most widely used customer segmentation• Developed and productionised ecommerce recommender systems for Brazil’s second largest retailer• Used network analysis to understand product substitutability and complementarity relationships, in order to provide ranging recommendations• Developed numerous tools to automate routine deliveries and allow non-technical peers to run code via a UIR & D and internal work• Undertaking academic research project into interpretable product embeddings with UCL• Developed a tool to rapidly prototype probabilistic demand models, allowing data scientists to experiment with different model forms solely by modifying a configuration file; developed dashboard to analyse outputs• Developed demand forecasting Python module to calculate price elasticities, to replace legacy software• Re-weighted data from receipt-scanning app to provide nationally representative view of UK retail industry• Developed documentation for numerous toolsPeople development• Developed and delivered Python, object-oriented programming and PySpark training, both in-person (in UK, Ireland, Brazil and Poland), and remotely; developed self-serve training (videos and exercises) for coding standards (covering coding style, structuring modules, git); delivered consulting skills training• Line manager of data engineer; mentored junior data scientists in Python and machine learning; point of reference for Python help
