The International Water Association and Grundfos have selected 14 outstanding young water professionals (YWPs) for the second cohort of the IWA-Grundfos Youth Action for SDG6 Fellowship. These YWPs will play a pivotal role in advocating for a water-wise world and youth empowerment, including active participation at key conferences.

ABOUT HADI MOKARIZADEH
Hadi holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta. With a background in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) from Amirkabir University of Technology, his master research focused on membrane processes for water and wastewater treatment. During his Ph.D, he specialized in dark and solar-driven oxidation processes for treating Oil Sands Process Water (OSPW) in Northern Alberta.With over 8 years of experience in both research and consulting, Hadi has expertise in designing advanced water treatment systems, including ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis (RO). He is proficient in engineering software like ROSA, Water Application Value Engine (WAVE); HTIR, and ASPEN HYSYS, and skilled in preparation engineering documents, such as PFDs, P & IDs, and heat/material balances.Hadi has led workshops on heat exchanger design, and collaborated on projects that apply industry standards (API, TEMA, ASME). As Chair of IWA-YWP Canada, he mentors young water professionals and organizes industry conferences.Currently, Hadi applies his expertise in water and wastewater treatment projects within the consulting and industrial sectors.
