About Habsa Aydid
I\'m a mechanical engineer who ended up here because I kept asking the same questions: how does this work, and more importantly, who does this actually help?Turns out, that question takes you pretty far. It took me to a research lab engineering cancer vaccines, to rural Kenya building clean water systems, to a pitch competition where an AI tool I built won for communities fighting gentrification. Every time I followed that question, I ended up somewhere that mattered. And the closer I got to the people I was building for, the more I realized: the physical object is where that care either shows up, or it doesn\'t.That\'s what drew me to product engineering. I want to make things that just work: no manual, no frustration, no moment where someone has to work to use it. Just picks it up and gets it. I care about the decisions that make that possible: the material choice, the tolerances, the way something feels when you pick it up. That stuff is invisible when it\'s done right, and that\'s exactly the point.Currently finishing my BS in Mechanical Engineering at UT Austin (May 2027), and looking for the next room where that question needs answering.
