About Gwendolen White

Informed by years of academic and professional experience, I am empowering sustainability and business professionals with an interactive approach to sustainability education and training. I bring a unique perspective to the practice of sustainability reporting. With a Ph.D. in business administration (accounting concentration) and as an accounting professional, I understand how sustainability reporting complements traditional financial and managerial accounting. As a management tool, a sustainability report enables organizations to examine economic, environmental, or social impacts. Measuring, analyzing, and controlling these impacts can often lead to risk mitigation, cost reductions, product innovations, operational efficiencies, and in many cases increased profitability. In addition to having worked in public accounting and academia (Ball State University and Indiana University), I have consulted with a variety of organizations about sustainability reporting. My work involves preparing and supervising sustainability reports for organizations in the higher education, nonprofit, and government sectors. I am a certified GRI trainer with the ISOS Group where I provide instruction on sustainability reporting using the latest Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. In connection with the GRI Professional Certification Program, I deliver GRI certified training on Integrating the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) into sustainability reporting and Reporting on Human Rights with the GRI Standards. My other trainings include the CDP Climate Disclosure Questionnaire, SASB Industry Standards and the International Integrated Reporting Council\'s (IIRC) Integrated Reporting Framework.
