My career in the veterinary industry spans stints from working as a kennel assistant, veterinary technician, equine midwife, and practice manager, to running my own veterinary recruiting firm, VetMgrCentral, which I launched in 1992. Today, I remain committed to my original mission; matching the right candidates (veterinarians and hospital managers) with the right clients (the hospitals). As a recruiter, I play a role similar to one of a matchmaker. I carefully listen to the career ambitions and personal goals of candidates, while considering the job requirements outlined by my clients. Every candidate has a unique story. And every company has a unique culture. My job is to successfully facilitate the best match to ensure the best long-term outcome for all involved. Who I Serve: Candidates: Veterinarians, veterinary office managers, practice managers, and hospital administrators seeking employment. Even those who are not actively searching (called passive candidates in recruitment lingo) are encouraged to connect with me on a confidential basis. Opportunities for career advancement often come about when we aren’t actively searching. Clients: Employers, business owners, medical directors, or veterinary hospital managers who are hiring staff. My client base spans coast-to-coast and ranges from sole-practitioner vet clinics to large 20-doctor emergency and specialty hospitals. What I Do: I help veterinarians and veterinary practice managers with employment, job relocation, salary negotiation, conflict resolution, and career advancement opportunities.
