ABOUT GWEN EVERHART

I recently completed my Master’s of Public Administration at American University’s School of Public Affairs, with a concentration in State and Local Management. My core interest lies in advancing progressive causes and policies, however I believe there many opportunities to do this in all three sectors of policy-work: in the public sector, the nonprofit sector, and even the private sector.Throughout my professional career, I’ve pursued a range of contract roles across the nonprofit, political, legal, and public health sectors that reflect my curiosity and deep commitment to public service. In addition, I have more than 15 years of experience in various service industry roles, which has sharpened my ability to lead with empathy, communicate across differences, and deliver thoughtful, people-centered support. My career and education have been shaped by a consistent theme: understanding and advocating for the needs of others, especially those most often left unheard.I am especially drawn to jobs and internships in fundraising/development, women\'s health policy, state and local government, and HR-based Diversity and Inclusion practices. I am currently searching for internships and full-time roles in Washington, D.C, and New York City; but for a perfect role I am willing to move further.
