ABOUT GWEN CASSADY

As a social justice policy advocate and founder of BlueMosaic.org, my mission is to drive sustainable and systemic change on a global and local level, particularly for underserved and marginalized communities. My work centers on advancing impactful policy solutions in areas such as homelessness, human trafficking, and sustainable development. Key Focus Areas: Social Justice & Policy Leadership – As a contributor to global policy at the United Nations, I advocate for the rights and well-being of marginalized people worldwide. Currently, I am also leading initiatives to influence domestic policy to combat human trafficking, with a focus on protecting children and vulnerable populations. Vision Forward Media – The documentary film division of Blue Mosaic, dedicated to storytelling that amplifies social justice issues. Our debut feature, If It Could Happen to Me, It Could Happen to You (on domestic homelessness), has won 9 awards. We are now in preproduction for Traffikid, spotlighting child trafficking in the U.S. Humbly, our award-winning short can be found on Super Kids Group Club – A children’s book series designed to address difficult challenges such as cancer, bullying, and mental health, while empowering young readers to overcome adversity. Kids Climate Club – Developing STEAM-based, environmentally focused programs for Charlottesville elementary schools and beyond, nurturing the next generation of climate-conscious youth. EcoChic Boutique – A sustainable retail initiative offering eco-friendly textiles (bamboo, hemp, organic cotton) and fair trade goods, promoting intentional and ethical consumption.I hold degrees in Economics and Education from the University of Virginia, with specialized coursework in sustainable development, eco-modular construction, civil engineering, and international education. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Global Development Practice from Harvard University, equipping me to create innovative solutions that bridge policy, education, and sustainability.
