About Guy Rohkin

So it goes: I was born curious and never really recovered.I grew up obsessed with how things work: cells, systems, stories, people. I\'ve lived in a few countries, pipetted a lot of things I shouldn\'t have, and somewhere along the way became the kind of person who reads about RNA splicing for fun and also has opinions about typography and design and history and music and all slew of things that pique my interest. I became someone who lives at the intersection of rigorous thinking and creative instinct. I still don\'t have a clean word for it.I\'m a generalist in a world that rewards specialists, which either makes me a liability or exactly what you need, depending on the room. I\'ve explored the edges of genomics, therapeutics, materials, climate, space, communication and a dozen other niche scientific frontiers, and the thing I keep finding is: the science is almost never the hard part. The hard part is making other people care as much as you do.I care about that problem. Probably too much.That gap.between what\'s being discovered and what the world understands.is where I live. It\'s a strange place. I wouldn\'t trade it.
