ABOUT GUY REDHEAD
I am a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who brings clarity to complex situations, identifies the real barriers to performance and delivers practical solutions at scale. My work is grounded in supply chain, procurement, logistics and operating model improvement, and I design and implement the structures, processes and teams that make change durable. I build trust quickly, work well with people at every level and enjoy developing teams so they deliver with confidence. My experience spans listed companies, advanced manufacturing, defence programmes, bio pharma technology, government and major professional services firms. I have worked across the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and Australia, directing global teams and securing capacity in demanding markets. Whether restoring production during COVID, building a global team, growing manufacturing capacity and logistics networks in addition to reshaping operating models in FTSE businesses and unifying multi-site organisations, I bring clear judgement, delivery and leadership that helps Boards and Chief Executives make decisions with confidence.Selected Achievements: • Delivered a £375m reduction in inventory and secured a further £27.5m in annual purchasing savings through major supply chain and procurement reform.• Built a global team, manufacturing and logistics capability able to produce up to one hundred million diagnostic consumables per week during COVID, including sourcing highly specialised materials.• As part of an operating model transformation, transformed the performance of SAP across a FTSE 250 business by moving it from a basic installation to a fully effective ERP platform supporting global operations and seamlessly pulled the end to end operating process, people and systems together.• Delivered a full operating model redesign for a major biotechnology company, strengthening procurement, planning, systems and data to support rapid growth to £1bn revenue.• Increased site margins from 6-10% at two UK plants whilst delivering £3m procurement savings in year one by improving the end to end Sales and Operations Planning cycle and supporting Operating Model, reducing the global network logistics cost (particularly reducing the use of air freight).I am now exploring opportunities to leverage my wide range of sector experiences for the right COO role, bringing a rich blend of commercial, change management, operational and people skills that can empower the delivery of business strategies, transform operational delivery and create a sustainable legacy.
