Guy is a Partner in the Toronto office of EY’s Professional Practice Group. Guy is the IFRS Regional Leader for Canada and is regularly consulted by engagement teams and clients across many sectors on complex IFRS matters. Guy is the Canadian firm’s representative on the EY Global IFRS Policy Committee which is responsible for, amongst other things, developing the global firm’s positions on significant or sensitive IFRS matters, IFRS exposure drafts, IFRS Interpretations Committee (IFRS IC) draft interpretations and tentative agenda decisions. Guy is a member of the IFRS IC (the interpretative body of the International Accounting Standards Board).Guy is also a member of the Canadian Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) and is the Chair of the AcSB’s IFRS Discussion Group. The AcSB established the IFRS Discussion Group to implement and maintain a regular public forum to discuss issues that arise in Canada when applying IFRSs in order to raise awareness and, when appropriate, make recommendations to the AcSB to refer particular issues to the IASB or IFRS IC. Guy was previously a long standing member of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) Financial Reporting Advisory Committee which provides input to the CSA’s Chief Accountants Committee on relevant policy initiatives that relate to the financial reporting requirements in Canadian securities legislation.Guy has also served as the engagement quality review partner on a broad range of Canadian clients spanning a wide range of industries. In addition to his experience at EY, Guy has seven years of industry experience as a senior financial officer for a global, Canadian and U.S. listed public company.
