ABOUT GUY CHRISTIE

As the Vice President of Full Asset Potential, my role is to work with the operational teams and technical functions to define and execute improvement play books and unlock the true potential of each asset. I have worked with COO’s, Global SVP’s and Operational General Managers to design, coordinate and facilitate the execution of Business Improvement and Operational Excellence efforts within corporate and regional offices as well as remote mine sites.I am passionate about change and understand the importance of linking effort to a business imperative to leverage the best platform from which to drive change. I believe strongly in solving real and relevant business problems by improving processes and developing systems to be fit for purpose business tools that enable people to make smarter decisions quicker and improve the business, but also understand the importance of effective execution to drive sustainability. I have been involved in the design and implementation of various global change management and operational improvement programs and was instrumental in transitioning a team, responsible for delivering >US$2bn in benefits, from a ‘project’ into a sustainable improvement and strategy execution function.I hold a bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town, as well as a certified Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma through the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales Business School.
