About Gustavo Galvao e Silva

Computer Science Student @USF | Tech Chair @GDSC | Peer Mentor Hi! I’m a computer science student at the University of South Florida with a 4.0 GPA and a deep interest in both software and people. Whether I’m building full-stack apps, analyzing data with Python and Pandas, or helping students through tough Calculus problems, I love combining technical skills with a human touch — it might sound cliché, but it’s genuinely what drives me. I’ve developed projects using Next.js, Firebase, and Google Cloud (including a flood-relief platform that connected dozens of families with donors), and I’ve contributed to everything from backend optimization to organizing logistics at a 200+ person hackathon. Outside of coding, I’ve worked as a Peer Mentor for Calculus II, running workshops, office hours, and even making math a little fun (it is possible — trust me). I also help lead workshops through the Google Developer Student Club, introducing students to tools like BeautifulSoup and Pandas for real-world data analysis. Right now, I’m diving deeper into AI, machine learning, and data science — always looking for new ways to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful projects. This summer, I’ll be interning at iFood in their state-of-the-art AI and ML department, helping develop intelligent solutions that impact millions of users. I’m excited to apply my skills in data analysis and software development to real-world challenges — and to keep learning from some of the brightest minds in the industry.
