ABOUT GUSTAVO DE FUENTE
Gustavo De La Fuente is currently a J.D. Candidate at the University of North Texas at Dallas-College of Law. He additionally serves as a 1st Lieutenant in the Texas Army National Guard appointed the role of Legal Support Officer. Prior to his existing role, Gustavo managed the logical and operational readiness of his platoon, oversaw all administrative, medical, and organization of over 40 soldiers while on state active duty order for Operation Lone Star (OLS). He executed a full range of personnel management, training, counseling, mentorship, readiness, and supply accountability programs during his tenure.Prior to joining the military, Gustavo interned for the Congressional Hunger Center (CHC), the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), Congressman Filemon Vela (TX-34), and Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28). Gustavo also served as a HACU ¡Adelanté! Leader-In-Residence Scholar, for which he assisted students in obtaining scholarship and internship opportunities; every year only 90 students around the country are selected to participate in this prodigious program. For his exemplary work as a HACU campus ambassador, he was awarded the Jose Ruano Leadership Award for which only 3 students were selected from his national 90 student cohort. Now graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, Gustavo has already had years of experience with public policy, office administration, leadership development, and educational achievement.
