ABOUT GURPREET SINGH
Gurpreet Singh MA in Dramatherpy at Roehampton university 2016 and Acting training LAMDA 2002. am an actor, facilitator, theatre-maker. Registered Dramatherapist working with respected radical companies, to develop my skills as a creative clinician. I trained at LAMDA performed with NT, RSC, Theatre Royal Stratford East Kneehigh. This foundation in creative group-led work established my practice as an explorative theatre maker, which led to me developing a passion regarding how drama can benefit psychological and physical health eventually leading to my gaining an MA in Dramatherapy from Roehampton University. I\'ve since worked in settings which have taught me how dramatherapy functions in real-life, such as schools pupil referral units. I provided creative support at Graeae working with Jenny Seeley on their recent productions with disabled veterans ‘This is Not for You’ ‘Iron Man’. supported work with Talawa & Graeae to provide support to BAME/disabled artists. Last summer, I will support a community version of As You Like It with the NT. I’ve attached a small written piece in the National Theatre Public Acts Newsletter. I have also supported Jenny Seeley at Graeae, visiting D/deaf & disabled artists from Japan & Bangladesh, R&D leading to a production of The Tempest in Japan for the Cultural Olympiad 2020.I am a member of the Healthcare Professional Council & The British Association of Dramatherapy. I have most recently been a resident dramatherapist at the Brighton & Hove Wellbeing service a GP practice On a prescribed course of weekly dramatherapy sessions working with patients who experience low moods, depression, social withdrawal, anxiety & Isolation. National Workshop Facilitator for Amit Sharma production of Winnsome Pinnock play \'One Under\'. During lockdown, I\'ve set up a Well Being Consortium for all company members, as a shared resouce with Fevered Sleep, Deafinatly Theatre and Improbable Theatre Company.
