About Gurdas Singh Sandhu
Gurdas has over 20 years of experience in systems-based approach to problem solving. He has used this skill in conducting scientific research, establishing business partnerships, and developing sophisticated engineering products. While primarily an environmental scientist, Gurdas deeply cares about environmental justice and other societal issues not directly related to his professional life, such as access to education and healthcare, equity in all aspects of growth, and reducing the burden of racial discrimination.At 3DATX, Gurdas heads the technical divisions including development of measurement devices, research programs with external orgs, and establishing strategic technical partnerships. These activities span Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, North America, and South America.Prior to this, Gurdas was a research fellow with the Air Quality Modeling Center (AQMC) at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Gurdas has Vice-Chair of the On & Off Road Mobile Sources Technical Coordinating Committee of Air & Waste Management Association (A & WMA). His research has been published in leading journals such as Environmental Science & Technology and Atmospheric Environment. He has served as reviewer for many journals and has presented at many international conferences.During his MS and Ph.D. at North Carolina State University (NCSU), Gurdas co-authored technical reports on sponsored projects to evaluate real-world fuel efficiency and emissions of on-road and off-road vehicles. While at NCSU, he developed Portable Emissions Measurement System Quality Assurance Software (PQAS), which has been used by over 15 graduate students to analyze tens of gigabytes of real-world transportation data.
