ABOUT GURBACHAN SINGH SARWANI

Magic on screen with the use of computer and technology was enough for me to pursue this as my career. Movies like Ice Age, Mr Incredibles, Final Fantasy, Finding Nemo gave me the first craving and curiosity for Animation industry. I started my course with Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematic, Andheri (Mumbai) at year 2005. I went through every departments task, through out the course, from asset build till final compositing during the span of 2 years and finally identified lighting as my best suitable department to work under. I got my first job at year 2007. It’s been 15 years till now, where the explore and research for best work still going on. Everyday, every project teaches us many stuffs. It’s a 2 way trade between the artist and the project. I am fortunate enough to work on various types of projects from CG Animation series till full length feature film, from high-end (20k resolution) ride shows up-to photorealistic Hollywood and Bollywood VFX projects. In year 2019, I got opportunity to join Redefine as a Sr. Lighting Artist. And due to the experiences of various projects and softwares over the years, good at grasping pipeline awareness, technical, logical and automate thought process, Redefine recognised and gave me an opportunity of becoming ATD, Lighting Supervisor and finally Head of Lighting Department, since April 2021, handling all over India team of Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkatta. Journey till now in this industry has been fabulous overall, like climbing a hill, where there are many difficulties, twists and turns, but the scenic beauty inspires to go more higher and higher day by day.
