ABOUT GUNNAR LITTRUP
My name is Gunnar Littrup, and I am a physical therapist currently working at Healthquest Physical Therapy in Clawson, Michigan. I graduated from Wayne State University with my DPT in December 2019 and have been working mainly in outpatient orthopedics since. Having graduated in late 2019, I am in a unique position of having practiced physical therapy during a pandemic for far longer than I got to practice in a \"normal\" world!Since graduating, I have enjoyed coming into my own as an outpatient physical therapist. I have taken continuing ed courses on rehabilitating overhead throwing athletes as well as a course on SFMA in addition to various courses offered online through Medbridge. My most important life changes since graduation have actually happened outside the clinic. Despite changing plans due to the ongoing pandemic, my wife and I got married in June 2020 and welcomed our beautiful son, Mads in late May 2021!During my DPT program, I pursued challenging and difficult full-time rotations with a heavy focus on developing my manual therapy skills and working with an outpatient orthopedic population. This included two separate full-time rotations at clinics specializing in OMPT. Additionally, I had rotations working with spinal cord injuries and other neuro diagnoses while at DMC - RIM, and then worked with amputees, inpatient, and acute care cases when I had my final full-time rotation at the VA hospital in Detroit. Before starting PT school, I volunteered at a pediatric clinic, a neuro outpatient setting, and worked as a tech in outpatient orthopedic settings. I believe my experiences with volunteer positions, work history, and clinical rotations have uniquely prepared me as a competent and well-rounded physical therapist who loves treating patients and making a positive impact. Based on my history I am most comfortable in an outpatient setting, but I would be an asset to any clinic or hospital with my enthusiasm for growth/learning, my positive attitude within the clinic, and my ability to connect with patients and treat them on an individualized level.Feel free to ask me if you would like more information on myself, my clinical/occupational/volunteer history, my passion for the field of physical therapy, or any other questions to help you get to know me!
