ABOUT GUNNAR THORARINSSON
Gunnar heads the London office of Icelandic law firm BBA//Fjeldco, providing advice in relation to M&A, capital markets, banking and corporate finance, energy and PFI and projects, as well as general corporate and commercial matters. Gunnar has been based in the UK since 2007, acting for various international investors in relation to their investments in Iceland as well as Icelandic investors looking to invest abroad. Gunnar is on the board of the British-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce and also sits on the boards of various companies in the UK and Iceland. Gunnar experienced first-hand the collapse of the Icelandic economy in October 2008, and subsequently acted for the international creditors of the estates of the old banks and participated in the discussions with the Icelandic authorities, representing holders of claims of up to EUR 20 billion, securing the successful settlement of the old banks 20••••16.
