ABOUT GUNNAR PETERS

I am an experienced HR professional and safety manager with a passion for creating safe and productive work environments. With a Bachelor\'s degree in Economics and a minor in Global Business and Literacy from Brigham Young University, I have a strong background in labor relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.In my current role as a Human Resources/Safety Manager at Hormel Foods, I oversee the HR and safety needs of an entire production facility. I have successfully managed employee relations, conflict resolution, hiring, and investigations while also overseeing the safety program and achieving a Safety Excellence Award in 2022. Prior to this, I held the role of Human Resources Generalist and Production Supervisor at Hormel Foods where I built a comprehensive employee recruiting strategy, managed a team of 60 production professionals, and created a culture of people and food safety.Before joining Hormel Foods, I gained valuable experience as an Assistant Store Manager at The Kroger Company, managing store operations, establishing a safety culture, and managing human resources for a team of 70 on the store floor. Fluent in Spanish and well-versed in Labor Relations, Conflict Resolution, Safety Culture, and Performance Management, I have honed my skills in these areas over five years of management experience.In my free time, I enjoy reading, history, politics, sports, and theatre.
