Manage four DoD programs including Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) Program; Defense and State Memorandum of Agreement (DSMOA), the Native American Lands Environmental Mitigation Program (NALEMP), and the Army’s Regional Environmental Coordination (REC). Responsibilities include planning, formulating, and developing major program goals, objectives, and budget, and monitoring staff who implement, review, and evaluate remedial action activities. Provide program advice and direction in setting USACE priorities, standards, and policy in the technical management and execution of assigned programs, and manages high level interaction with members of Congress, Federal and State Agency Counterparts, Federal/State/Local elected officials, the Government Accountability Office, Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), and DoD. Supervise a diverse workforce consisting of engineers, environmental specialists, scientists, and program support personnel by assigning work, developing performance standards, and assessing staff’s performance against them, resolving conflicts and grievances, and sustaining workforce through hiring, training, mentoring, and coaching.
