As the NAVY ONR Senior Scientist (ST) for Advanced Computing Concepts, I conduct and lead world class research on various aspects of Computing Information Sciences and Engineering, focused on DoD Applications. As the Chief Scientist of NRL Center for Computational Science, I lead high performance computing research focused on accelerating scientific discoveries. We work at the intersection of: advanced computing architectures, low latency high throughput networked computing, large-data focused analytics - with both embedded and enterprise computing perspectives. Computational Science and Engineering is at core of intersection between: the subject matter scientists, high-performance hard-ware designers, software designers, systems-integrators, HPC-users a.k.a customers, and backend support (sustainment). Strategic objectives, comprehensive understanding, innovation, agility, high-performance, sustainable, affordable computing - is required to remain successful in technology transition.
