About Guled Duale

Coding has always been a pipe dream of mine to an extent. I witnessed some of my peers catch fire in the computer science field and thought of them as outliers. I grew gradually complacent and felt that I should pursue a degree in literature and become a school teacher. Rock bottom had never felt so despairingly lonely. I continued on this path until I decided to fight against mediocrity for once. As a result of this, my outlook on life change. After winning a state championship in Rugby, receiving three varsity athletic letters, and playing football in high school and college, I felt like nothing could stop me. This translated over in my academics as well. I spent my freshmen year at App State where I would experience the beginning months of COVID-19\'s grip on the country. After encountering adversity once again, I was able to push through with a good academic position, sitting comfortably at a 3.2 GPA. Transferring to UNCC was a daunting decision, but it has worked in my favor. After re-adjusting to living with my family again, I was able to bring my GPA up to a 3.62. With a focus in Java and a planned concentration in Software Engineering, I hope to become a full-stack developer one day. With my adaptability and grit, there aren\'t many places where I won\'t be able to shine.
