ABOUT GUILLERMO GARAU

Guillermo Garau is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting\'s (\"FTI\") Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice. Mr. Garau leads FTI\'s Latin America (“Latam”) and Florida Transactions practices. He enjoys more than 20 years of accounting and corporate finance experience. Mr. Garau specializes in advising financial and strategic clients engaged in M&A and divestiture activity. His experience spans the entire deal spectrum including pre-deal strategy, valuation, due diligence, contract & negotiation support, separation and integration planning. He has managed or served as a key member of cross-functional M&A teams in over 400 transactions and his deal related experience has a value range from $1 million to multi-billion dollar transactions. He has also led finance focused interim management roles for clients in need of leadership around business planning (13-week cash flow modelling), financial reporting and FP & A. His experience extents multiple industries, amongst these: healthcare, telecommunications, real estate, business services, consumer & retail, and transaction processing.Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Garau was a Partner in the Advisory practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”). He co-led PwC’s Deals Latam Financial Due Diligence practice and led PwC’s Mexico Deals Divestiture platform. He started his career at PwC as an auditor to financial institutions and investment management companies. Mr. Garau also worked for RBC Capital Markets as an equity analyst covering REITs. Mr. Garau has a B.A. in Accounting from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. He is a CFA charterholder and Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Mr. Garau is fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
