ABOUT GUILLAUME CLAIRET

Physics engineer who loves water and who loves doing business with a sense or purpose. Leadership that can transform and grow organizations to the point of having a lasting positive impact on our global and local communities is really what my life is all about.I graduated from Laval University in Quebec but pretty much completed half of my engineer degree in Paris at EPF engineering school. Then I worked as a research assistant to study ground water contamination on military bases and training grounds all over Canada. Have you ever seen the movie Erin Brockovich and/or heard her story? Well this was the Canadian version of that story. That experience really got me hooked to \'\'Water\'\'. To protecting. to preserving. to treating. to reusing. to understanding. to simplifying Water!I then moved to California in 2007 for H2O Innovation and there I had the chance to work with some of the smartest people in the membrane desalination and water reuse industry. That is also where I completed my MBA at the University of San Diego which probably has the most amazing ocean views of any MBA schools in the United States; quite ideal for early morning or sunset surf sessions-)After 5 years of growth and consolidation of businesses we had acquired in the US, I moved over to Madrid, Spain, to keep growing H2O internationally. This is where I finished my master at IE Business School and met amazing executives and friends from all over the World. At the time, 82 nationalities were registered in the MBA program of IE making it the most diverse business school in the World. And that brings up another good point about who I am: I love diversity! I love curiosity! I love exchanging with people of various horizons and backgrounds.While building H2O Innovation is my whole life on the professional level, I also like to volunteer and to learn. On that front, I served as a member of the Board of Director of the International Desalination Association for over 8 yrs. I am active on the Judging team of Imagine H2O, the California based incubator and I serve on the Advisory Committees of CentrEau and Osmoz. Finally, I always want to continue learning. In 2021, I have completed the institute of corporate directors program at McGill to perfect my skillsets regarding state-of-the-art Board Governance and effectiveness. In 2023, I did an Executive Education program at Harvard Business School on the topic of Mergers and Acquisitions: what an intellectual feast!Looking forward to meeting you in person.
