As a Senior UX/UI Designer at ZF Group, I lead the end-to-end design of a new navigation software optimized for commercial vehicle drivers across EMEA. This greenfield project requires deep understanding of complex user needs and challenging technical constraints, focusing on usability and accessibility for professional drivers. My responsibilities include: Leading the product design from 0 to 1, from initial user interviews/secondary research to high-fidelity prototyping, collaborating closely with development teams through numerous iterations. Addressing critical challenges specific to commercial vehicle navigation: heavy cognitive load, hardware constraints, native platform intricacies (Android Native), and robust routing engine testing. Planning and conducting user research (journey mapping, interviews, focus groups), preparing for A/B testing and beta phases. Championing an integrated design thinking approach, involving stakeholders and engineers early to validate feasibility and minimize waste.As Lead UI Designer of Velocity for Mobile, The mobile branch of Velocity Design System, I leverage my 2,5 year of native mobile design system expertise to build the foundational UI system for all mobile devices, including in-cab computers. My key contributions: Directing UI architecture and defining design guidelines for scalable components, ensuring consistency across multiple products. Evangelizing Design System principles internally, providing training and mentorship to designers. Defining design specifications tailored to hardware constraints and native platform rules. Shaping the long-term UX vision and feature prioritization on the product roadmap, balancing user value with business objectives.
