Currently managing the operations for Mann Eye Institute. A leader in the ophthalmology field, our practice is always on the cutting edge of new technology. We are continually striving to find ways to provide better care to patients providing LASIK, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology care. With 18 locations between Houston and Austin, 2 Ambulatory Surgical Centers, 45 physicians, and over 400 employees, the unique challenges these present have given me the opportunity to learn how to run a successful healthcare practice. I still drive the technology vision for the practice by always looking for technology solutions to improve operations.• Manage a group of clinical administrators that each manage their own location or region. Through weekly meetings and strategy sessions, we successfully maneuver the challenges that managing an ophthalmology practice brings.• A member of the Mann Eye Institute executive committee. We meet weekly to devise strategies, build teams, and determine the direction and vision of the practice. Primarily responsible for budget, expense, and capital equipment planning. • A member of the committee for mergers and acquisitions. The owner/board is an aggressive growth minded group. The practice acquisitions and mergers committee looks for new opportunities and when found, develops a project plan to purchase and integrate them into the practice.• The Call Center falls under my leadership. Devise strategies for better patient care over the phone, review statistics, and devise training plans for better overall performance. I created the internal sales team and structure responsible for incoming sales inquiries. This move to focus on internal leads has greatly increased our conversions to surgical consults.• Successfully implemented an electronic patient kiosk check-in system. Saves time reduces errors, and gives patients a better experience.
