ABOUT GUADALUPE OROZCO

My name is Guadalupe Orozco, and I am an Associate within Burr & Forman\'s Creditors\' Rights and Bankruptcy practice group. I graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law. At Alabama Law, I was an active member in the Student Bar Association (SBA), Health Law Society, and Latinx Law Student Association. I previously served as the Internal Affairs Coordinator for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion SBA committee where I assisted in coordinating events to ensure students of all cultures and identities felt welcomed at Alabama Law. However, I pivoted from that role when my classmates elected me to be a 3L SBA Senator where I focused my advocacy on creating a culture that places a premium on physical and mental well-being. I previously served as a Junior Editor for the Alabama Law Review, where I had the opportunity to improve my writing, researching, and editing skills. Currently, I also served as an Articles Editor for the Alabama Law Review, where I was responsible for assisting in the screening of potential articles, supervised editors, and incorporated recommended changes. Before Alabama Law, I attended Jacksonville State University, where I received a Bachelor\'s of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Economics. I graduated with Latin honors of summa cum laude. I was heavily involved in various campus organizations. I served as a Student Senator for 2 terms, a member of the Freshman Forum, an executive member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and participated on the university\'s debate team. Even though I earned a full tuition scholarship at Jacksonville State University, I maintained employment with several companies throughout my undergraduate education to cover my living expenses. I worked for Target, Burger King, and Bruce\'s Foodland Plus, which were all integral in teaching me the importance of treating the public with the utmost respect. While balancing full-time employment as a full-time student was challenging, it was a rewarding experience that sharpened my time management, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
