About Guadalupe Buitron
I am a first-generation Latina social worker turned entrepreneur with a deep passion for advancing economic equity and improving the financial outcomes of marginalized and vulnerable communities. Growing up in a Latino and immigrant community, I witnessed firsthand how the lack of financial education and resources perpetuates cycles of poverty and financial instability. These experiences inspired my mission to help others become financially capable, achieve financial wellness, and begin the path toward building generational wealth.I hold a Doctorate of Social Work from California Baptist University, where my research focused on promoting the financial capability of first-generation college students. In addition to being a certified financial social worker and financial therapist, I have years of direct practice experience in child welfare, community social work, and mental health. Through my clinical and entrepreneurial work, I am dedicated to empowering individuals and families to achieve sustainable financial and emotional well-being.As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I also specialize in teaching, mentoring, and empowering social work students and emerging professionals. Leveraging my experience in clinical practice and academic instruction, I am deeply committed to guiding students toward licensure and professional success through culturally responsive and equity-focused approaches. I create supportive learning environments that prepare the next generation of social workers with the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to excel in diverse and complex settings. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and personalized mentorship. I am dedicated to fostering growth, adaptability, and a strong professional foundation in every individual I work with. Whether I am supporting clients through life transitions, guiding students toward licensure, or mentoring future social workers, my work is driven by a commitment to equity, empowerment, and creating pathways for lasting, transformative change.
