ABOUT GIULIA SERGI

I am the Director of Filopea, the first Italian platform—currently under development—to encourage and democratize donations to Italian nonprofit organizations. For over 10 years I have had the privilege of observing and supporting innovative solutions that tackle the root causes of the most urgent social and environmental problems of our time. Many of these initiatives lack the resources, power, and visibility needed to fully realize their potential. My mission is to bridge this gap by engaging unusual and courageous allies to activate systemic change. For eight years I was a Program Manager at Ashoka, managing global teams that guided over participants and allies toward shared social impact goals. I contributed to the development of the open-source course “Systems Change Masterclass” and led more than 40 workshops on systems change. I have facilitated multi-stakeholder groups in co-creation processes on critical topics such as gender equity, migration, integrated health, participatory democracy, and anti-corruption (for the 2021 C20), to promote collective-impact solutions. I’ve also presented over 20 public events, with audiences of over 500 people. I live in La Spezia, originally from Milan and for several years based in Naples, where my heart remains. I have two children, am a committed feminist, study acting and participate in community theatre projects, and I still believe in the power of building a more inclusive and just society for future generations.
