About Guide Rungamornchai
12 years of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection (MPF) engineering in a multidisciplinary design firm - Project sectors and systems designed: • Healthcare, correctional facility, workplace, K-12, mission critical (new, addition, renovation) • Air to water heat pump, DOAS with ERV, VRF, MAU, PTAC, Boiler, hydronic, gas, packaged HP, etc- Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Trane TRACE software- Mentors mechanical interns and young professionals in the office; emphasis on growth and career goals- The University of Kansas; BS in Architectural Engineering, graduate with Distinction, May 2013I have substantial experience in the design of K-12 educational and hospitality projects including new construction and renovation and additions. Some examples are Ottawa Elementary/High schools (Kansas), Marriott hotel (Mountain View, CA), and Aqua Waikiki hotel (Honolulu, Hawaii). Systems I have worked on are packaged RTU with DX cooling, gas heat single zone/VAV, DOAS w/ energy recovery, VRF, VTAC, displacement ventilation, FTR and etc. I have designed Performing art center, dust collection system for wood working spaces, and fully functional kitchen for K-12 projects.I am involved in every step of the design process from development design to construction administration. I attend owner’s meetings, crossed disciplined coordination meetings, and visit job sites whether it be verifying as-built conditions or doing punch lists. My responsibilities include utilizing BIM modeling software (Revit or AutoCAD) to prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems and using Trane Trace to calculate heating and cooling load on the buildings. I also put together control sequences and specifications. During CA phase, I review submittals, answer RFIs, and prepare ASI drawings/responses.I always pay attention to details and how things are being constructed or put together. With an architectural engineering degree, I am able to understand and communicate well with other disciplines making this one of my core strengths. I truly believe in the value of integrated design and collaboration where all team members (architecture, structure, electrical, and mechanical) come together to achieve the best solution and to deliver a product that exceed clients’ expectations. With every project, I try to find ways to work more efficiently and to eliminate as many errors as possible.
