ABOUT GRUFF VAUGHAN
Hello there! I’m a co-founder and co-CEO of STORM+SHELTER, a film, video and animation production company based in Cardiff. I\'m a no-nonsense, fact-driven (and smile-averse) sort of chap and I consider myself “good with details, bad with people”. Rest assured, I’m working very hard on the latter.Over the past ten years, I’ve led the business through an intense start-up period, growing from three inexperienced friends “giving video a go” to a 16-person production company developing close working relationships with household brands like Twitter, Virgin Media O2 and Yamaha, supporting their marketing efforts with a mix of content strategy, creative development and production capability. My professional background is in content production, with over 15 years of experience in digital marketing, commercial media production, web development, graphic design and copywriting. Having worked as a freelancer for a number of years, STORM+SHELTER was built on my first-hand knowledge of project management and client relations. I try to ensure the continuous development of company processes and policies, steering the business towards growth and continued profitability. Sounds a bit too grown up, really. I consider myself a detail-oriented guardian of all things financial, taking charge of the day-to-day running of all company accounting and decisions required to keep it all on track. You could say that I’m a charitable sort of fellow, and I enjoy being useful, so when faced with an opportunity to combine my knowledge in digital production and business processes to benefit the greater good, I’ll give it a good go. In 2013, I co-founded Heads Above The Waves, a not-for-profit organisation that raises awareness of depression and self-harm in young people, and was Creative Director for Cerddwn Ymlaen, an annual 200-mile charity walk in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance—a mammoth effort which raised for charity over three years.
