The Great Expectations program of Tidewater Community College (TCC) is designed to help current and former foster youth between the ages of 17 and 24 transition into college. In this role as the Great Expectations Outreach Assistant, I introduce prospective TCC students, their social workers, independent living coordinators, and other community partners to resources within TCC as well as available from the greater community. I also provide support and resources to our Great Expectations students who currently attend TCC. In addition to emailing, calling, and meeting with our current students via Zoom, I also work on all our four campuses of TCC (Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake).
