About Laurel Holtzapple
Groundworks studio designs imaginative landscapes that emerge from the culture and nature of place. We believe in the power of design to transform marginalized and neglected sites into engaging landscapes for people and wildlife. Our body of work spans a wide range of landscape typologies including campuses, public art, streetscapes, play spaces, courtyards, parks, and residential gardens. Although our work spans the rural to urban spectrum, we are committed to restoring vitality back to cities. Services include conceptual planning, design, construction documentation, and construction administration for landscape architecture, urban design, and public art projects. Our studio leads and collaborates with teams of architects, artists, engineers, and craftspeople to make design concepts come to life. Groundworks studio was established in 2007 and is a woman owned and certified Small Business Enterprise with the City of Charlotte.
