About Timothy Tim G.
Early in my life I discovered a love of working with my hands and solving problems. I enjoyed tearing things apart to see how they worked and how to assemble them again. By 11, I began to follow in my fathers’ footsteps of his love of technology. I took any chance I could to go to his office whenever I didn’t have school to work alongside the group of IT professionals, as they moved computers from one floor to another, rewired an entire server room, or to investigate damage to systems when a hurricane tore off the corner of the office building.As I grew into my own professional, his traits were instilled in me to be kind, have fun, stay curious, and be fair. My father has since passed but I had the pleasure to work with him 2 different times throughout my professional career. He gave me my first steppingstone into the corporate world with a full-time IT position while I finished my final 2 years of my bachelor’s degree. He then brought me onboard where I am now, Catania Oils. I now lead a team of my own and strive every day to maintain an enjoyable work environment for my team and other cohorts, while motivating my group to strive for excellence, look for innovations, and fight for constant security. My goal is to give my team a place where they enjoy coming to work, and feel comfortable to bring any issues to me, work related or otherwise. One of the core values of Catania oils is “we are family,” and that’s the environment I want to cultivate for my team.Catania Oils has been my home since 2016 and is the first position where I have felt valued as an employee and not just a number. Catania Oils is a fourth generation owned family edible oils company. Catania’s founding father, Giuseppe Basile, migrated to the US from Sicily with 12 drums of olive oil and sold cans of it door to door. He grew that business into a production location in Somerville MA, where the business continued to grow and innovate. In 2003 the Basile family moved from Somerville to its current location in Ayer MA, where the business continues to grow.
