About Griffith Uy

I was born in Virginia, grew up swimming and snapping Legos together, and studied in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Woodberry Forest. I’m a big fan of D.C. sports—Go Caps—and love spending time outdoors. Beyond my technical pursuits, I’m deeply committed to coaching, mentoring, and supporting those around me, driven by a passion for social good and problem-solving. As a Mechanical Engineer, I prioritize curiosity-driven learning in the classroom and hands-on innovation outside of it. My work spans across research, product development, and instruction. I explore novel challenges in carbon sequestration technology as a research assistant, develop products in a consulting capacity, and share my love for swimming and water safety as an instructor. Every opportunity—whether in the lab, on the pool deck, or in the field—has strengthened my ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and create solutions with impact. I’m grateful for the experiences that have shaped my journey and excited to keep learning, building, and solving meaningful problems.
