JD graduate from the University of Virginia and Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas and Arkansas.Before joining Kirkland & Ellis LLP, I worked as a tax attorney at Baker Botts LLP in Houston, Texas. I specialized in representing and advising clients on complex transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and debt and equity offerings. I also assisted clients with tax controversy matters through the examination and appeals stages, as well as before the United States Tax Court. Prior experience also includes as a CPA for Rickels Professional Group, PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas. I worked on all types of tax returns, from corporate returns, individual returns, fiduciary returns, and returns for pass-through entities. I also assisted on audits and reviews for entities, as well as tax planning and SBA compliance with the payroll protection program. At the University of Virginia, I was awarded the Edwin S. Cohen Tax Prize for demonstrating superior scholarship in the field of Tax. I served as the Articles Editor of the Virginia Tax Review, was a member of the International Tax Moot Court Team – to represent the University in the 2019 and 2020 International and European Tax Moot Court in Belgium – and served as Vice President to the Chief Research Officer of Rivanna Investments. I was awarded best oralist and best taxpayer team honors in the 2019 International and European Moot Court competition and served as the student coach for the same competition in 2020. The team won first place both years. As a rising 2L and 3L, I worked as a summer associate at Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston, Texas. Baker Botts is a major United States-based international law firm. Before law school, I successfully passed the CPA exam in the summer of 2016 and worked as a Staff Accountant for Dillard\'s Inc. until receiving my license as a Certified Public Accountant the following year. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ouachita Baptist University in 2016 with a B.A. in Accounting and Finance, a minor in Political Science, and an Alpha Chi distinction. Interests: Tax Law, Federal Income Tax, Income Tax Controversy and Litigation, Income Tax planning.
