Developing world-class sensitivity to the Manganese-53 to Manganese-55 isotopic ratio using accelerator for my undergraduate honors thesis in physicsmass spectrometry, AMS, at the Notre Dame Nuclear Science Lab, NSL• Lead researcher and organizer for the project• Gave oral presentations at major conferences in Boston and China• Responsible for proposing experiments at NSL users meetings, designing the experiments, writing run plans for the accelerator operators, tuning the accelerator, leading experiments, and am first point of contact for troubleshooting• Working extensively on instrumentation, repairing electronics, installing and replacing machine parts• Preparing cathodes and acquiring new material with a standardized 53Mn/55Mn ratio to test• Developing data analysis and data filtering programs in Python and C++/ROOT• Conducting data analysis using ROOT, Python, and Microsoft Excel• Collaborating to develop a new multi-anode gas ionization detector• Extensively using NIM instrumentation.
