About Gretchen Ruethling

I am a passionate partnership builder, problem solver and communicator with more than 15 years of experience focused on tackling community development challenges both internationally and domestically across government, non-profit and private sectors. As the current Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Programs for Accion Opportunity Fund, I provide organizational leadership in programs, fundraising, and communications activities to fuel the success of small business owners across the country. My prior experience spans international development initiatives with a range of organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Rainforest Alliance, the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute, the World Resources Institute, and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico. I have a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University and an MPA from Cornell University. I’m also a former Presidential Management Fellow and a former contributor to the New York Times.
