The department’s commitment to Cal Poly’s “Learn by Doing” philosophy helped her develop tangible skills to carry into the workforce.Although her time in the workforce was brief, her experience in BRAE equipped her to identify problems and engineer solutions—so that’s exactly what she did.She is the founder of Gretchen K Ming Consulting and creator of Centrifloc—a compact, pump-fed mixing unit designed to bridge the gap between expensive active treatment systems and unreliable traditional passive systems in the stormwater industry.Gretchen identified a gap in the market for a passive water treatment solution that delivered repeatability, simplicity, and effectiveness, so she did what she was taught, she engineered a solution to fill the gap.Constantly failing.
