Great Lakes correspondent for the American Indian newspaper based in Ithaca, New York including writing stories about Indigenous issues around the Great Lakes region.Wrote a series of stories about ongoing fight by the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and other Anishinaabe (Ojibwa) tribes to stop a sulfide mine that is being built by multinational Rio Tinto/Kennecotrt Minerals.Kennecott Eagle Minerals will dynamite a tunnel through sacred Eagle Rock - used for thousands of years by the Ojibwa for cultural and religious ceremonies.Because their sacred religious outdoor church (Eagle Rock) is being destroyed, the Ojibwa are devastated by the lack of respect shown by Republican and Democratic governors and agencies from the state of Michigan - plus Kennecott Minerals and Rio Tinto.Doomed - Sacred Eagle Rock is located on the culturally important Yellow Dogs Plains in remote north Marquette County in Michigan\'s Upper Peninsula.
