I was working in finance at my \"dream job\" when I realized something was seriously wrong. Despite society telling me I was doing everything right, I felt an emptiness that I couldn\'t explain.For years I silently struggled. I tried to fill the void inside me with fancy health supplements and Lululemon dress pants. I thought that I\'d be happy once I found the perfect morning routine or optimized my fitness regimen. Everything changed when I learned the most common regret people have at the end of their lives:“I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”That line punched me in the face. It made me realize that I was wearing a mask, pretending to be someone I was not. And the emptiness I felt? It was because I was living someone else’s version of success, not my own.
