Greg Varga is a trial lawyer and the Chair of Robinson + Cole\'s national Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group. For 25 years, Mr. Varga\'s practice has been focused on the representation of insurance companies nationally in complex insurance coverage litigation, in lawsuits seeking punitive damages and other extra-contractual remedies, and in other corporate litigation. Mr. Varga has successfully represented clients in numerous high-exposure cases involving a wide variety of insurance lines, including layered and quota-share property insurance; business interruption and extra expense; builders risk, contractor\'s equipment, and other inland marine risks; equipment breakdown coverage; and excess and surplus lines risks. Mr. Varga\'s expertise in the insurance coverage field earned him membership in the American College of Coverage Counsel and the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC). Mr. Varga\'s experience in the defense of bad faith litigation is equally significant. He has litigated bad faith cases in 18 states. On many occasions, clients have retained Mr. Varga on the eve of trial to take over the defense of cases previously handled by other law firms. In other instances, Mr. Varga has been retained to consult on open claims to ensure compliance with good faith investigation and claim settlement practices and to avoid exposure to extracontractual liability. Mr. Varga is a frequent speaker and panelist at insurance industry and bar conferences. He also serves as an instructor in the FDCC\'s \"Fed Tech U\" program, which instructs trial lawyers in the effective use of presentation technology in the courtroom. Mr. Varga chaired Robinson + Cole\'s in-house litigation and trial skills program for four years.
