Manage the Americas compliance activities and efforts to ensure adherence with import/export laws, improve operational efficiencies, develop KPI’s, as well as partner with other GTC Specialists to implement Albemarle’s trade compliance strategy. My responsibilities include the following- Enforce policies and procedures for import and export functions according to U.S. regulations. Develop and maintain import/export policies, procedures, and instruction manuals to ensure compliance with U.S. and other Customs laws, regulations and administrative practices- Analyze technical data and clearly articulate the appropriate HTS and ECCN for Albemarle products - Prepare, submit, and administer export licenses, to the requisite government entities. Track application status maintain database of granted export approvals, satisfy record-keeping requirements, and prepare required reports for export licensed products- Respond to inquiries from Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders regarding HTS, ECCN, documentation requirements, or other import and export regulations to ensure timely clearance. Maintain import, export, and supply chain security compliance records in accordance with recordkeeping regulations - Audit import and export documentation and processes for accuracy and compliance; reconcile discrepancies; and, assist in the preparation of prior disclosures, voluntary tenders, protests, or PSC\'s - Coordinates and participates in periodic formal trade assessments to ensure that policies and procedures are properly followed and that all activities and transactions are in compliance with the appropriate import and export laws within the Region- Key contact with U.S. and foreign Customs authorities- Research, report, benchmark, and implement international trade best practices- Customs Entry Reconciliation (value) program. Ensure proper valuation methodologies are applied to entries for the reconciliation period
