   I am a member of the a great team of professionals within Curriculum & Instruction Virginia Department of Education. I have a long and varied history of working and influencing the field of science education at the classroom, district, state, and national levels. I taught science for eight years in Virginia Beach before entering into a Ph.D. program at the University of Virginia. I became the High School Science Coordinator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, was Chair of the Leadership Committee for the Virginia Science Education Leadership Association, and president of Tidewater VASCD.I moved to South Carolina as a science specialist in 2003. I am past-president of the South Carolina Science Education Leadership Association, and past member of the Science Leadership Committee and past Council member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). I have authored several articles for the NSTA. I have a passion for science education and helping educators accelerate ALL student achievement.
