ABOUT GREGOR SCHAEFER

I build and transform enterprise technology at scale — from strategy through execution, with full accountability for outcomes. At Accenture, I\'m part of the leadership team for Digital Core & CIO Advisory across Central and Eastern Europe, working with enterprise CIOs and boards on technology strategy, AI adoption, cloud modernization, and operating model design. Before that, I spent over a year shaping Accenture\'s generative AI strategy for SAP across DACH and CEE. What sets my perspective apart is that I\'ve also sat on the other side. As VP of Digital Finance Transformation at METRO AG, I owned a transformation budget in the low-to-mid three-digit million range, led 60+ people, built the global S/4HANA finance template from scratch, and reported regularly to the management and supervisory board. I pioneered the use of generative AI in the SAP project lifecycle — work recognized by WirtschaftsWoche and Lebensmittel Zeitung. That experience shaped a conviction I carry into every engagement: technology transformations succeed or fail based on architecture decisions made early, leadership alignment sustained throughout, and the willingness to challenge legacy thinking — including your own. My career spans 20+ years across SAP, MHP – A Porsche Company, METRO AG, and Accenture — from hands-on implementation to enterprise leadership. I hold executive education credentials from MIT Sloan, Harvard Business School, and Oxford Saïd, and I\'m deeply engaged in the intersection of enterprise AI, cloud platforms, and organizational readiness for technology-led change.
