Batch Control Systems Ltd is a systems integrator which designs, configures, tests, installs and commissions new and existing automated processes and control systems. This is done for a variety of factory lines, particularly in the pharmaceutical, chemical and oil and gas industries. We also provide a support and maintenance service for many of our clients. This involves programming PLCs/DCS (industrial computer which bring in signals from the plant, process the information and send out signals to instruct the plant) and programming SCADA systems (PC’s)/ HMI; which allow the operators to interface with the plant.On large projects BCS often subcontract the building of the panels which house the PLCs; as well as the electrical wiring from the various instruments on the plant. BCS engineers write the programme, which makes the PLC/DCS function as the client requires. Likewise BCS engineers write the programme, which makes the SCADA function as the client requires.There are several different types of software which can be used to write the programmes and this will largely be dictated by the client, cost or the required functionality.
