About Gregory Saunders

I have experience developing Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAV) mapping programs with small and large format aerial imagery. I am a licensed surveyor who focuses on producing quality controlled remotely sensed data. In addition to UAVs I have expertise using terrestrial and mobile LiDAR systems, bathymetric data, and a range of other sensors and technologies.I oversee and manage projects from creating and reviewing field plans, quality controlling field work, processing and creating deliverables, and guaranteeing all client expectations are met. Projects I worked on have been used in presentations for the FHWA, NGIS, ASPRS, Hexagon Geospatial, FFA, and Commercial UAV expo. In addition to work I am actively engaged in professional organizations such as the Nevada Young Surveyors Network, and Nevada Association of Land Surveyors. I am always on the lookout to introduce the land surveying line of work to as many people as possible through STEM outreach and other methods. When in school my thesis focused on creating a robust and repeatable method for in-field photogrammetry of landslides and debris flows. The completion date was August 15, 2014. In the fall of 2013 I assisted with teaching of the course \"Physics of Geological Processes\" at UiO. My work consisted of leading lab tutorials in Matlab and assisting field studies. Combined with my Bachelor\'s degree in geological engineering and prior work experience I am well rounded in both the technical and field aspects of geology and geotechnical work.International studies have allowed for the creation of a large worldwide network of peers and colleagues in industry and academia. Learning from leading Universities in the United States and Norway has given me a broad range of knowledge and resources.Specialties: photogrammetry, LiDAR, quality control, surveying, control networks, drones, flight planning, trajectory processing, networking, project management, geodesy, remote sensing
